Our Middle School sports teams have wrapped up the 2024-25 fall season, turning in excellent performances in and out of the classroom. The combined team grade average for fall season teams was an incredible 92.68, led by the boys’ swimming team (93.20) and the girls’ cheerleading team (93.14). In addition to these impressive academic achievements, the Raiders had great success in the South Florida Middle School Conference (SFMSC). Read on to learn more.
Boys’ Golf – CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS
After losing half of the 2023 SFMSC Championship team to graduation, there were questions to be answered about the 2024 team’s future. The Raiders started the season with convincing wins the first week against Westminster Christian and Palmer Trinity, and they never looked back. The team won match after match, finishing the season undefeated, and then went on to win the South Florida Middle School Conference Championship for the third year in a row. This outstanding achievement has never been accomplished by any other Gulliver MS Golf team.
Our success was truly a team effort. Our top five returning golfers lowered their average scores by a collective 14 strokes. The difference between Gulliver and the second-place team in the Championship Tournament at Granada GC was 15 strokes.
Congratulations to the 2024 team, with special recognition to Will Bailine, Michel Pierson, and Mario Ribera, who were part of all three Championship teams.
Girls’ Volleyball – CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS
The Gulliver Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team had one goal in mind this season, redemption! Redemption for falling short in the previous seasons’ playoffs. Redemption for being cast aside as the underdog, and redemption for being overlooked. After tough losses early in the season in the Florida Christian Tournament, the girls started at 1-3 and lost the tournament’s final match. Little did they know that would be their last loss of the season! The girls rattled off 9 consecutive wins including two playoff wins to secure another conference championship! Led by eighth graders Luiza Osorio (All-Conference Team), Violeta Pescarmona (All-Conference Team), and Fini Sanchez Lago (Conference Tournament MVP) the girls found a way to win.
Congratulations to the Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team on a great season and winning the South Florida Middle School Conference Championship!
