Shivani Joshi P ‘35 joined our Gulliver community prior to the start of the 2024-25 school year and serves as our Chief Advancement Officer. In this important role, she leads our Advancement Team and oversees our efforts in fundraising and development, alumni relations, special events, and marketing and communications.
Shivani has more than 20 years of development, partnerships, and sponsorship experience at the American Cancer Society, University of Miami Business School, and Florida International University, where she oversaw fundraising for all the schools and colleges. Prior to that, she led fundraising for the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and over five years was the University’s highest fundraiser, closing out a $750 million campaign. Over the past 20+ years, she has built partnerships, cultivated transformational gifts from first-time donors, played leadership roles in campaigns, led events for organizations like South Beach Wine & Food Festival, The Grammys, and the Miami Open, and has been integral in designing and implementing strategies that have led to enormous fundraising successes.
As a proud mom to Elan, who has been at Gulliver since JK and is now in second grade, Shivani is no stranger to our school. Last year, she served as a member of our Board of Trustees Development Committee and supported trustee Cassey Morales P ‘27 in her role as Committee Chair.
Here are a few “Raider Rapid Fire!” questions to get to know Shivani a little better!
What excites you most about joining the Gulliver community?
The chance to contribute to an institution that embodies the energy, diversity, and cultural vibrancy of Miami. Gulliver’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity reflects the dynamic spirit of this city—a global hub where tradition and modernity thrive together.
As Miami continues to grow as a center for technology, arts, and education, Gulliver’s vision for initiatives like Human Capital, our 100 year anniversary, and the Arts Center positions it as a leader in shaping the future of education in our community. I’m thrilled at the prospect of contributing to programs that not only prepare students for a globalized world but also celebrate and leverage Miami’s unique cultural landscape.
The opportunity to work alongside passionate students, dedicated educators, and engaged families who embody the resilience and creativity Miami is known for is incredibly inspiring. I’m eager to be part of Gulliver and continue to shine as a beacon of excellence in this extraordinary city, honoring its rich tradition while paving the way for an inspiring future.

What is one of your core Gulliver memories in your journey so far?
My son’s first day of school was a milestone I’ll never forget. It was after COVID, and he was just three years old—my only child. I wasn’t sure what this phase of parenting would look or feel like, but the moment we stepped onto Gulliver’s campus, it became clear. When people say that by joining Gulliver, you truly become part of a community, they’re absolutely right. From day one, we felt welcomed and supported in ways that made all the difference.
