Upper School Excellence

The Upper School thespians continued to impress, with their one-act production, “Mamma Mia,” selected for the state festival in March. This remarkable achievement elevated them to the ranks of the state’s top theatrical productions.

On Saturday, 42 students competed in individual events. A record-breaking 30 students earned Top Honors medals, the highest accolade of the day in their respective categories. Two exceptional performers, Luiza Padoveze Goncalves ’27 and Sophia Lambert ’25, each claimed three Top Honors medals, signifying the best work in all of Dade County.

Sophia Lambert ’25 and Estefania Velez Garcia Granados ’25, were awarded Dade County Arts Scholarships.

The week culminated on Saturday evening with a triumphant return, arms laden with trophies and medals. The director tallied an impressive 113 superior buttons for the students, with 30 judges bestowing perfect scores on their performances. This extraordinary achievement underscored the immense dedication and countless hours the students had invested in honing their craft and representing their department and school. It was undoubtedly their busiest week of the year, and the artists rose to the occasion with flying colors.
