Seven Student Musicians Perform at FMEA All-State Music Festival
Each fall thousands of elementary, middle and high school students audition to be selected for the Florida Music Educators’ Association’s All-State Music Festival. This year, four Academy singers and three Prep musicians were chosen to represent Gulliver at the Festival:
Salomon Bibas ’23 – Middle School Mixed Chorus
Kate Brewer ’24 – Middle School Treble Chorus
Gabriela Celic ’26 – Elementary All-State Chorus
David Gonzalez ’21 – Bass in the Florida All-State Concert Choir
Julia Izquierdo ’20 – Soprano in the Florida All-State Women’s Choir
Margaret Miao ’22 – Violin in the Florida All-State Concert Orchestra
Mateo Villegas ’24 – Middle School Mixed Chorus
The Festival, which takes place every January in Tampa, invites select students to participate at the four-day music festival. Once a student is chosen to be a participant at All-States, they become ranked as one of the top musicians in the state.
In Tampa, students rehearse for three days with the finest conductors in the country to perform music that is of the highest quality in the celebrated FMEA Festival Concerts, well attended by music educators from across the state and country. This is the second largest All-State Music Festival in the United States, second only to Texas.
